Kensington engagement shoot

Last month I did a really fun engagement shoot with Robyn and Mike. They are getting married back in California next year but are currently living in London and wanted to have their engagement shoot here. We started shoot at their gorgeous Kensington apartment before heading to Holland Park and then along the Southbank.
I love the colours they wore and their fun sports shots!

Stylish intimate wedding

At the end of May I photographed the beautiful wedding of Eleanor and Stuart at Brockencote Hall. It was the smallest wedding I have captured, with just 14 people. I loved it. The sun shone, the details were gorgeous and Eleanor and Stuart were the picture of happiness.

When they saw their photographs yesterday they sent me these kind words:

Oh Emily the photos are amazing. Thank you so so much. You have such a gift! You have really captured the tone and intimacy of our day as well as our characters in the photos.

I have looked through them x2 already and am going to have at least another 5 more views tonight ;o)

London Engagement Shoot

Ariel and Paul’s London engagement shoot took place in Highgate Wood and has to be the cutest engagement shoot I’ve ever done thanks to the amazing styling by Charley of London Bride. Charley and I met earlier this year and I am really excited that we are now working together and offering styled engagement shoots in London. I will write more about this very soon but if you are interested then please drop me a line!

Paul and Ariel are getting married in Chicago next year and I wish them all the best! x

Karl and Lucy’s Wedding

A few weeks ago my very good friends Karl and Lucy got married in a beautiful little Sussex village called Alfriston. I adored this wedding, not just because lots of my good friends were there AND I got to put the camera down and dance the night away but more importantly because it was all about love, family and friends. All weddings should, of course, be about that but sometimes it can be so easy to get lost in the details of the day, in the planning and in showing what a great party you can put on, that you forget that as long as you love the person you are marrying and your friends and family are there to celebrate with you, the rest is just a bonus. I am now planning my own wedding, so I know how easily it can happen!

Vintage Love {part two}

Here are some more images from the lovely and very special shoot that I did with Charis and Owen, using the lovely Lola vintage caravan, which was set up for us at Stanford Hall Caravan Park. The flowers were by the super talented Miss Pickering.

Golden Fold

This is the second in our series of guest posts by London Bride.

We all like a bit of structure in our life {whether we admit to it or not!} and although floaty, floral and ruffled details at a wedding can be beautiful, clean lines, structure and more angular shapes can be particularly striking and modern. An emerging trend in wedding design is origami.

Of course, inspired from the East where origami is believed to have originated as an art form, gold and oranges seemed a great highlight colour to combine with the folding and pleating details, and just a dash of pink softens the overall look.

My marriage proposal!

On Friday evening I asked Stef to marry me by placing these three images in our garden and giving him the heart chalkboard to write his reply on!

Huge thanks to my wonderful friends Charis and Owen for taking these photos during our vintage caravan shoot!

So, now to put all my wedding industry knowledge to good use and plan our summer 2011 wedding, which will be a celebration of not only our love but also include our beautiful children in a celebration of our happy family. I can’t wait xx

Vintage love shoot {part one}

Yesterday I had incredible fun with my very first wedding clients and very good friends, Charis and Owen! We hired out Lola and Miss Pickering sent flowers. It was all just perfect and I couldn’t wait to get some images up here! There will be more coming next week but for now here are just a handful of the beautiful Charis and Owen (now talented wedding photographers too!) and those flowers I can’t get enough of!
