When your big sister starts school…
I felt rather sad on Monday for my middle child, Oren. His big sister was off to school for the first time and he just got to look at all the inviting things in the playground and see the lovely smiley teacher, and then come home with me and his baby brother. He seemed really miffed and sad.
What would he do without Imogen by his side?
Well, it didn’t take him long to work out that actually this was rather fun, especially when baby Max had his nap. He could have mummy all to himself. And all the toys, the garden, the books, and even the TV buttons. But best of all…he could go and search for monsters in the garden!
Success!!
But, there is no doubt he’s missed his sister this week. Today when we passed the school before home time he sat down and cried outside the gate. If I ever need proof that my children love each other, that is it!
If your children have started school this week I hope they have got on well and enjoyed it. I hope you’ve managed to get into the swing of the morning routine. And I hope that you and any little children left at home haven’t been feeling too sad. If you have you might like to go on a monster hunt in the bottom of your garden! x
