Birmingham Wedding Photography – Tracey and Sam Married!
Last month I photographed a wedding that I will always remember, not only because it was my first Chinese wedding but also because I was made to feel so incredibly welcome and part of the day. When I first met Tracey and Sam I knew I wanted to shoot their wedding, so was delighted when they booked me.
Their celebrations began at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham where all the girls got ready. The boys had to arrive at 9am to play some fun games (a Chinese tradition) before Sam was allowed a brief moment with his bride-to-be.
The bridemaids had designed the games, which involved eating muffins with chilli and garlic, singing and cleaning teeth with mustard! Sam and his guys were amazing sports and ate, drank and sang everything they were asked to!
Once everyone was ready we left the Hyatt for Berrow Court in Edgbaston for the wedding ceremony.
When Tracey arrived a red umbrella was held over her as she got out of the car. A beautiful Chinese tradition, as red is considered to be lucky. After a wonderful ceremony we enjoyed amazing weather in the gardens before heading on to one of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham, Chung Ying Garden in China Town for the amazing wedding banquet, including a tea ceremony.
And then it was back to Berrow Court for more photos, drinking, speeches, dancing and cake! It was an amazing day’s work. I LOVE my job so much.
Tracey and Sam, huge congratulations and have a wonderful honeymoon in Borneo! x
